Bradford Bulls' encouraging first half of the Super League campaign is in danger of stalling after a string of injuries to key players slowed the side's momentum. An impressive start to Super League XV saw the Odsal outfit sitting pretty in 4th place in the table but a home defeat to Leeds Rhinos has seen McNamara's men fall behind their bitter rivals for the first time in 2010.
May began on a sour note with a trip to Murrayfield for what proved to be anything but magic for the Bulls fans. A 19-0 defeat by Crusaders signalled Bradford's first game in four years without scoring a single point and an injury to star man Matt Orford, who has been so influential this year, compounded matters.
The following week's home fixture against Leigh Centurions in the Challenge Cup proved a perfect tonic for the team, with Chris Nero grabbing a hat-trick in a ten-try romp which catapulted Bradford into the quarter finals. Veteran Steve Menzies touched down twice, with Brett Kearney, Michael Worrincy, Wayne Godwin and Glenn Hall also on the scoresheet along with 20 points from the boot of Paul Sykes in a routine but morale-boosting win.
A patched-up Bulls team showed grit and determination which was beyond them last season to register a 29-10 victory at Wakefield on May 14th, despite being 10-0 down just before half-time. An inspirational display from Stuart Reardon and two more crucial tries from Chris Nero were the catalyst for a
