Business watch this month focuses on the Martin Family Foot Practice. Though evidently not a building itself, this mobile foot clinic is something of an institution in the area, having been founded in 1980 by mother Amanda and now in the safe (and, he stresses, warm!) hands of son Lindon. Though there are no doubt many people who like their job, there are arguably very few who love what they do. Lindon has no doubt that he has found his calling, however, and the amiable Mr Martin radiates enthusiasm when describing the service he provides: “I like to think I give an affordable, high-quality treatment and strive to be friendly and personable- its the way I am.” After taking over the reins from Amanda, Lindon (who lives in Clayton) has found himself drawn to Wibsey, despite serving almost all of South Bradford: “I find that the people here are friendly and like a nice chat while I’m there- which suits me perfectly!” He intends to continue to deliver his £19 “full works” treatment until hopefully opening a practice in the future, and is very happy spreading his expertise throughout the village- after all, what is more satisfying than doing something you enjoy?
