Wyke Rugby Team

According to the Brighouse Observer, Friday 7th May 1915, the team were as follows: Petty, Hudson, Boughen, Shaw, Oates, Wilson, Jagger, Town, Brown, Fearnley, Lawford, Middleton and Kellett.

They played in the Halifax League Championship against Elland to a crowd of over 2000. Wyke won by 5 points to 2 after extra time was played. A cup and medals were presented to the Wyke team by Mr C W Crowther.

Today the team is still going strong. They practise on the recreation ground in Wyke and are in division 2 of the Penine League. They have won promotion for the previous 2 years
